Pentecost in Brussels
On June 8, the parish feast of the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Brussels, a solemn Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Archbishop Simon of Brussels and Belgium.
He was assisted by the church clergy: the rector, archpriest Pavel Nedosekin, priest Andrei Krayushkin, priest Alexander Tsabiev; and the deacons: Yaroslav Makal, Maxim Burla, Ilya Tonku, and Vladislav Tsabiev.
At the beginning of the service, Archbishop Simon ordained a new lector; a tradition already established in the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity.
During the Divine Liturgy, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Belgium, A.A. Tokovinin, and his wife prayed. The choir was led by A.A. Nedosekina, choirmaster.
After Great Vespers and kneeling prayers, Archbishop Simon delivered a sermon. He spoke about the grandeur of the Feast of Pentecost and the need to preserve our Orthodox faith and pass it on to children so that the Lord may guide them on the path of life, founded on salvation and trust in God. This involves not only preserving the truths of the faith, but also putting them into practice in their own lives, thus setting an example for modern society.
After the celebration, a festive meal was served, during which many words of congratulations and greetings were spoken.
