12-04-2026 Easter Message of His Eminence Mark, Metropolitan of Korsun and Western Europe, Patriarchal Exarch for Western Europe.CHRIST IS RISEN! Dear brothers and sisters! I address you with the traditional Easter greeting, expressing our rejoicing in the Resurrection of the Savior. Christ's Pascha concludes the Holy Great Lent, which was instituted in imitation of our Savior's forty-day fast. After His Baptism, the Lord Jesus Christ withdrew into the desert to challenge the forces of darkness. By overcoming all temptations, Christ gave us an example of how to resist the invisible enemy. The life of each of us is also connected to overcoming difficulties, full of struggle and drama. During Lent, we repeatedly heard the words of prayer that spoke of our need to become conquerors of sin. However, our desires often collided with harsh reality. And instead of overcoming sin, we succumbed to it. Christ came to earth to help us overcome sin. And the New Testament of Christ the Savior was established for the purpose of forgiving the sins of humanity. Forgiveness at the cost of the life of the God-man. Lent has ended, the week of the Lord's Passion has ended. The Orthodox world is celebrating Christ's Pascha. Saint John Chrysostom calls us all to join in the Paschal celebration. Those who fasted and struggled with sin, and those who fasted poorly or did not fast at all. Join us for the sake of the greatness of the Feast. Let us open our hearts to the joyful news of the Savior's Resurrection! Let us strive to banish all darkness and gloom from our souls. May the light of Christ's Resurrection illuminate our hearts and fill them with joy and meaning. TRULY, CHRIST IS RISEN!
