Patronal Feast Day at the Church of St. Anne in Brussels.

On Saturday, August 8, 2026, the patronal feast day of the Church of St. Anne was celebrated.

The festive service was led by Archbishop Simon of Brussels and Belgium. Praying and concelebrating at the Divine Liturgy were the rector of the church, Priest Andrei Popa, Priest Adrian Alaoui, Deacon Vladimir Gabernik, Deacon Ilya Tonku, and Deacon Maximus Burla.

The service was enhanced by the singing of a choir composed of singers from various churches in our diocese.

Following the Divine Liturgy, a procession with the cross took place around the church, attended by clergy and laity.

Archbishop Simon addressed the faithful with a sermon. The Archbishop recalled the lives of the holy righteous Joachim and Anna, the parents of the Most Holy Theotokos. He called on everyone to follow their example of humility, patience, and steadfast trust in God, maintaining faith and hope in all life's circumstances.

The festive day concluded with a communal meal outdoors. Parishioners and guests of the church gathered around the fraternal table. The fellowship continued in a warm and joyful atmosphere, uniting all participants in the spirit of Christian love and fraternal unity.

Through the prayers of the holy righteous Joachim and Anna, may the Lord strengthen our community and grant everyone peace, love, spiritual joy, and salvation.
