The 101st Pentecost was celebrated in the Church of the Holy Trinity in Charleroi
Founded in 1924, the Church of the Holy Trinity in Charleroi solemnly celebrated its patronal feast. The first service in this community, which did not yet have its own building, took place in the coal mining administration on Easter night. A century has passed since then, but the flame of Orthodoxy has not been extinguished in this former mining town in Belgium. The work of the White Army soldiers who founded the church continues to bear spiritual fruit. Today, the church is filled with new generations of parishioners who inherited the building from the Kornilov soldiers who founded it.
Just three weeks ago, the church's oldest parishioner, Galina Andreeva, passed away at the age of less than 100. She was the daughter of Captain Andreev, who, along with his other military brothers, was a co-founder of the parish and a longtime parishioner. May they all have eternal memories!
The solemn ceremony on the feast of the Holy Trinity was celebrated by Priest Adrian Alaoui. After the ceremony, the parishioners prepared a festive table where they could exchange ideas in a fraternal atmosphere.
