Exhibition of hand-painted icons in Kortrijk
On June 8, 2025, on the day of the Holy Trinity, which is also considered the birthday of the Orthodox Church, an exhibition of hand-painted icons "Blagolepie" by the icon painter Ekaterina Titova was held in the parish of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kortrijk after the Divine Liturgy.
The exhibition was based on about 15 original iconographic images painted by Ekaterina Titova and created in the traditional icon-painting technique.
The participants were also presented with a unique collection of accessories, for the creation of which the artist was inspired by the history of the period of Russian decorative and applied art of the Russian Empire of the 19th century, namely, original scarves dedicated to the cathedrals of the Russian Church in Europe, built by the best masters of that time and with the blessing of the Royal Family.
The central exhibit of the exhibition was the icon of the feast of the "Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary into the Temple", which was donated to our church.
Artist Ekaterina Titova spoke about her work, dwelling in detail on the features of the icons she painted, and also spoke about how church ornaments can be used in decorative and applied art.
The story ended with tea and refreshments for all those present.
Ekaterina Titova is a participant in various exhibitions in France, Monaco, Italy, Austria, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria and Russia, a member of creative unions and associations of young artists.
