The Nativity of Christ at St Nicholas Cathedral in Brussels.

On 7 January 2026, the feast of the Nativity of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ was celebrated prayerfully and solemnly at St Nicholas Cathedral in Brussels.

In preparation for this radiant feast, through the care and efforts of the parishioners, the cathedral was beautifully and reverently decorated, creating a special atmosphere of Christmas joy. Many faithful gathered for the festive divine service: the cathedral was full, and a large number of parishioners partook of the Holy Mysteries of Christ on that day.

After the service, the clergy and parishioners continued the celebration at a communal Christmas meal. To the great joy of all those present, Archbishop Simon of Brussels and Belgium prayed during the service and presided over the festive gathering, sharing with his flock the spiritual joy of this great feast.

According to the cherished tradition, numerous Christmas carols were sung during the meal by both adults and children, giving the celebration a special warmth and a family-like character.
