Christmas Tree in Ostend.
On January 11, 2026, after the Divine Liturgy, a children's Christmas celebration was held at the Church of St. John the Theologian in Ostend. Adults and young parishioners prepared a vibrant costumed performance—an instructive tale about the merchant's son Vanya and how his parents helped him choose a hard-working bride. The cast performed their roles with amazing sincerity, instantly captivating the audience. The church was transformed into a fairytale land thanks to the colorful decorations. And the play's narrator, Elena, and Father Frost, who were taking part in a Christmas party for the first time, delighted everyone with their talented debut and ability to spread a festive spirit.
After the performance, we all joyfully danced around the Christmas tree with Father Frost, sang, solved riddles, and played games. The atmosphere of love and good humor that reigned in the church warmed everyone present.
The fun concluded with a small meal prepared by the parishioners for the children. After feeding the children, the adults found a place at the table to reflect on the most precious moment of this latest milestone in the life of our community: that our church is our home, and the parish is our family, where our children are happy and where, by God's grace, we help each other become happier.
