Archbishop Simon of Brussels and Belgium attended the solemn mass and reception to mark the anniversary of the election of Pope Leo XIV.
On the anniversary of the election of Pope Leo XIV, the Apostolic Nunciature to Belgium and the Apostolic Nunciature to the European Union held a celebratory mass. The celebration was attended by officials from the European Union and the Kingdom of Belgium, accredited ambassadors and diplomats from various countries and institutions, religious leaders, and members of the public.
The former King of Belgium, Albert and Paola, were present at the mass. Traditionally, Archbishop Simon of Brussels and Belgium attends all such celebrations marking the feast days of popes.
The mass was presided over by Archbishop Bernardino Auza, Apostolic Nuncio to the European Union. An official reception followed the solemn mass.
Archbishop Simon was accompanied at the celebrations by Archpriest Pavel Nedosekin, diocesan secretary.
